Spokes is the next game from Radical 8 Games, an exciting, colourful race around a velodrome track for 1-6 players.
In Spokes players race around the velodrome, changing the routes on the board with the spokes from their bike. As the game develops, new routes emerge, and management of energy as well as ingenious route spotting will see one player emerge victorious.
Spokes launched on Kickstarter in the first quarter of 2025 and smashed it, with over 1000 backers supporting the release of Spokes.
Spokes was designed by Bert Hardeman, and came second in the Cardboard Edison awards in 2021. In Spokes Bert has managed to distill the competitive feel of a great race into a set of simple mechanics which make players consider their choice of routes and how those will influence their stamina for future rounds. This leads to an incredibly elegant ruleset that is easy to learn, but rewards clever play, and is a clear reason for its success in the Cardboard Edison awards.
Spokes comes with a jigsaw-style recessed player board, perfect for making the game as compact as possible so it can be easily taken on journeys, cycling or otherwise. It also has 150 wooden spoke pieces in a vibrancy of colours, double sided recessed player boards for a choice of countries and play modes, player pieces and tokens.

We’ve been fortunate enough to demo Spokes extensively in the UK and Europe, with fantastic feedback from everyone who played it, and even those who just watched. This amount of playing and playtesting has refined the game into a superb experience which everyone enjoys, and I really hope you will too.
